Cuppa

Cuppa

A Poem by Souladareatease

Listless in symmetry one says
is line lies of the past
sheer not be the curtain
through which light is cast
take the mercury and sink it
settling temperature within the skin
profuse dilute singe
incite your poison wine
for there it is written
tattooed lavish
inking a filtered mind
weed cripple deep
alone a lion settles dust
quiet scratching's
piercing the screaming mime
let him parade the stage
for there the parlor tricks
whittle rhyme
nipping bits and chips
hand over fist its the dirt of the lip
that snarls its fangs upon
such recessed pangs
nay to joy

stay torn
break apart upon public eye
so Roman games breathe life again
this be the height of gladiators fight
and folly to the pouring in afterthought
for roses shall be tossed and favour be lot
shedding such modest skin

I opened my window with a shutter
and let the light beam in
sipping life wide awake
from disfiguring dream

You do your real name honor here G. for I won't speak it out loud lol, wow, what a fantastic ancient vision of the old Romans, and their vain reality. I liked this muchly , your pen knows no limits, wich planet you saw this time? Saturnus? :D for I saw it. Great work...

"quite scratching's
piercing the screaming mime"

Is a most fascinating sentence.

I see the lion moving in a dream-escape,
Whirling his legs... scratching his enemy.

Well done dear friend, always a rich vision you share.

But I'm weird, i could have spoken to Dionysos before posting this... LOL

Such a vivid picture... I love the Roman gladiator imagery, and the way that point a spotlight on the fact that life imitates life imitates life...until we find that it is all a full circle orbiting constantly toward some kind of unexplainable infinity.

The last lines truly spoke to me...bold and beautiful in their stark reality. Breathtaking and strong at the same time. Fantastic.
