Glass

Glass

A Poem by Makayla

have you ever watched a glass fall,
knowing the outcome before it happens, anticipating the crash
and watching the shattered pieces scatter
when it finally hits the ground

you never meant for it to fall
it was a victim of circumstance
pushed by things around it
that weren't aware of the consequences of their actions

no one wanted to break it
it was unexpected
no one was prepared to lose
something that was supposed to last

it can happen so fast
that you could miss it in the blink of an eye
or it could happen slowly
like it was being eaten away from the inside

have you ever noticed the change?
have you ever seen the turmoil?
have you ever thought about your part in it?
have you ever watched a man fall?
