Rest

Rest

Another moment of Misty Memories haunting my spirit.

Rest my weary soul in tenderness

Lift face so my eyes reflect a light

Cool night envelops my spirit now

Chilling me with thoughts unseen

Your calm assurance lifted me so

Warm hand on my face comforting

Now I lay my body rest on memories

Under the starry skies alone I long

Your body fled its earthly confines

Left me under this night sky misty

Alone with remembrances of love

I gaze the stars for your reflection

Rucksack laid were we once did

I stare off into the heavens light

Orbs hang over our favorite spot

In the stillness I weep memories

The loss of a truly loved one is painful but at least the memories are pleasant. I feel this poem and once again recognise the beauty of your soul in your writing. Thanks for sharing this.

This is a melancholy poem filled with a love that is no more but it is done with grace and style. It is wrapped in beautiful nature filled imagery.
