A Poem by Olmsted A. T.

Stephanie
She called me up cause she was stranded
tire on her car was torn to shreds
everything that we ever had
was all left up to chance
people told me not to listen
but my heart it told me different
her eyes they caught me in a spell

All I ever wanted was
for things to work out our way
nothing that I ever did
turned out the way I planned
I told her I loved her madly
but she told me to walk away
every time I hear that name
I look back to those days

Why'd I have to let her go
how could one man been so blind
How was i suppsoed to know
she'd be my one that got away

So never again willI walk away
never again will you hear me say
this is the last time you hear me say
never again will I walk away

She always put my dreams in front of hers
told me she'd make every single one come true
every night as I awake and in the daytime too
people told me not to listen
but my heart it told me different
her eyes they caught me in a spell

all she ever wanted was for me to treat her right
no large task for me to handle
just keep her warm at night
i hear her say as she was leaving
and watched her walk away
every time I hear that name
I look back to those days
