While I was Sleeping

While I was Sleeping

A Poem by Madison.

While I was sleeping
I dreamt I knew what love was
And you tried to start
a Revolution in my heart.
While I was sleeping,
I fell in in love with--
you.
"I fell in love the way you fall asleep:
Slowly, and then all at once."
And you promised me it was real.
But I felt my body grow heavier
and the air lighter.
Then I awoke
And you were gone.
I laughed to myself,
at my foolishness.
There was no such thing as love--
Reality set in:
You were nothing more
than a figment of my imagination.
And the Revolution died.

"I fell in love the way you fall asleep.. "

Very deep poetry. Sounds you be dreaming of having one night stand with someone you damn got bewitched with since the very first day your sapphire eyes met his, but soon when it comes to reality, you come to know and figure things around out that whatever it was that pleased you or hooked ya up ov'r the night was nothing more than just a mist - a thought - a tint - a "figment" of your tender mind that has you utter lost in the illusion of deep reality. Very deep poetry it is. Nice shot!
