At Dawn

At Dawn

A Poem by Omar

Dust gravitates

Towards the sun

And snowballs

Into cumulus

And Sky is never

Generous with Light

Waterfalls

Tumbling like rays

Of gold

Unto the Universe

Parachuting

Airily, like feathery ballerinas

As I flail in rage

Trying to swim upwards,

Towards the light

In blind quiescent frenzy

Amid the frantic Struggling

Cityscapes and skylines

Smeared with colored neon

Accelerate, in orbits

And fold the seawater like a thick

Wooly blanket

Of obscurity around me

Ghost ship,

Sailing on a river of drought

And upon the warm but

Barren seabed

I lie in desolate circles

Tasting the glitter

Filtering from the sun
At Dawn

Very thought-provoking. Liked the regularity of the flow.
