Blue Hearts

Blue Hearts

A Poem by Omar

When blue hearts

Tire of thinking

And orange suns

Rise from hibernation

In secret midnight hours

To thaw the numbness

And quell the

Strangulation

Asphyxiated and frost-bitten

Drained and

Melted into frozen liquid

Under night-skies left unsprayed

With silver,

And walled

When spirits are utterly

Astonished

To find nothingness

Only thick, dense oxygen

Enough for indigo blood to

Flow in the very sky

Of oblivion black

All is when blue hearts

Finally fall asleep
