Pure

Pure

A Poem by Omar

I snuck out

From in between the thorns of

Deep-sea

Deep-freeze sleep

For a moment

I snuck out from the cool, quiescent

Folds

Of oblivious night

The frosty chains of melancholia

And the moon

I peeked through the broken seam,

O! Believe me, it was only for a stolen

Moment,

One moment, that is all it took me

A fleeting shooting star of a moment,

A waking sleeping second

To contemplate

Your purity

The image could be a young woman running to see her sweet heart, or a parent escaping for an afternoon, just to breath.
