Dollar Bill

Dollar Bill

A Poem by BroitsLeo
"

A poem I wrote in my English class earlier this year. I wrote it in a sense of being "money" and my perspective on the corruption caused by money.

"

I am a dollar bill.

all of your luxuries I may fufill.

Once you earn me.

You'll have the urge to burn me.

For the people who have me in mass, become concieted.

Not anymore, once your wealth is depleted.

What do I mainly breed?

The malicious human corruption, greed.

Go on and tell me what are your dreams

I'll be able to make it a reality

and once I do, answer this honestly

"Am I truely happy?"

The situations people will undertake to aquire me

might put them in jail

Oh look, now they need more currency

for their exorbitant bail.

I may assist you on aquiring a sumptuous car

Led to believe it will bring you far.

For the beginning it might be all fun and games,

to party and "make it rain"

When your fortune is lacerated

You'll end up demoralized

You'll plead to be ameliorated.

In the end, I'll be the one you despise

Interesting poem, I liked it and you were able to include some complex vocabulary too. You included most if not all of the downside of money and our persuit of it. Well done
