Zell's Poem

Zell's Poem

"

Zell's thoughts to his lover, Kage

"

Have you ever wanted to scream until your throat was raw and your voice was hoarse?

Have you ever wanted to throw yourself into the street and wonder if the unsuspecting drivers would kill you?

Have you ever looked down at a blade and imagined killing people, then turning the reflective steel on yourself?

Dreams of homicidal sweetness flow through your mind, but it is your scarred heart that keeps you afraid

That fear is what drives you further into your cage where you watch the world with eyes of rage and terror

Watching friends, you feel longing and horrifying envy

You wish for that and hope those little people's friendship dies

Your pain as turned into a desire for destruction, but fear keeps you still, terrified at the idea of their retaliation

In your cage, you rave and wither in agony and wrath, but no matter how loud you scream, your cries go unheard

You roam the emptiness of your world and find it truly empty

The only sound is the flow of bitter tears you have cried and the fiend's song you sing as an anthem to your suffering

The stigma placed upon you by those people spread like a plague

Now that stigma took physical form on your flesh, a rigid burn of that word that haunts you so

They have sealed their hatred into a scar on your back, and that scarred word of hatred only darkness your world

The tears you have cried are now a bitter ocean

Your anger has now set your world aflame, and that fear is now a bottomless chasm which keeps you isolated from the warmth that you seek

Someone like you never saw themselves as pure

Your hands have been painted crimson with blood; the blood of those who you have killed in order to survive, and your body has been ravaged by sadistic monsters

Monsters who have the nerve to call themselves "human"

But despite the scars, the blood, the rage, fear, and sorrow

With the few times I have seen your smile, I see your true nature

I see the true innocence of your soul despite the darkness

I do not see a monster, or that cursed word burned into your skin

I only see a man looking for security, of being wanted

About
I started writing when I was twelve, though the writing was not very descriptive and a bit choppy. As I have been writing, it's been getting better. I seem to be in a bit more of the fantasy genre, bu.. more..
