My modern day prayer

You are my sunshine

when it is raining.

You are my heart

when it is not mine,

but yours.

You are my everything.

My world.

I believe in.

I also know,  we are far from

a perfect couple.

you and I.

But,  you make my life.

So complete.

You lift me up when

I am down.

I really

want you

to

be so.

very contented,

happy

and health.

No matter what!

Please God,

make

my soul mates

pain go away.

And to just make him.

Smile,  healthy and happy

yet once more, please.

Why simply

because

he is

a good man

and I love him

so much!

And also

because

I can

not bear

to see

him

in so much pain.

I know life is short

God,

I ask this one

favour for him.

Just make him

smile

and pain-free!

I just wish!

I COULD
BUT I CAN NOT!

So this gift

I beg

from you.

I hope you hear

my modern day

prayer love D.

And do this for him

and others in this

world suffering

take it all away

and make them

whole again

on earth.

Great poem! As a Christian, I enjoyed the spiritual aspect. Beautiful imagery, the grief and frustration behind it was certainly palpable. It can be heartbreaking to watch a loved one in pain, knowing that there is nothing you can do to help them.
