The Light is Fading...

The Light is Fading...

A Poem by Onlyme

When you never see any light
at the end of the tunnel
and the fast train is approaching
and you step on the line
and wish for it to be over.

Your stand on a bridge holding onto
to the railings the wrong
side facing the water. Trying to pluck
up the courage to let go and just jump.

Or overdosing on drugs and alcohol
and wishing for instant pain relief

In your bedroom alone late at night
self-harming and hoping the next
cut kills you outright.

Pain comes in many forms and
feeling death is your own escape
or comfort also can be expressed
in many ways.

Reach out and phone

If this is an emergency, call 911. If you are in crisis or suicidal and need someone to talk to call the Samaritans branch in your area or 1 (800) 273-TALK.
