Working Class Housing Estates...

Working Class Housing Estates...

A Poem by Onlyme

Life on the street is really hard
never easy if you come from
the rough side of the street.

Council estates and working class
families scrapping money together to
make ends meet. And keep a roof
over their families heads and food
in bellies.

Kids learning to grow up fast.
And look out for themselves
Some join gangs. That lead them
astray. Or into crime and such like.

Others turn into school swots to get out of
the rut of never-ending hand to mouth
living.

To educate and better themselves long
run to help themselves and their family.

Admiration is the word. Determination
speaks volumes.

It is sad council estate kids and families
never get recognition for anything nice
or good in general. Always negative things
normally. And that is sad.

When so many are decent, kind thoughtful
human beings. Who actually look out for
each other and their neighbours.

This good Dawn. In this country the rich get richer and the poor are left to fend for themselves. Benefits are cut and council services are slashed. The BHS staggers from one crisis to the next. Our rulers then try to blame things on the poor themselves. You have done well to describe what is going on. And don't let me get started on brexit!
All the best
Alan
