Harsh Reality

She stands on the streets corner

every night.

Barely 19 years of age.

A prostitute is her occupation.

Hand jobs and blow jobs

and the odd shag from a random punter

in the back of a car or a van is her trade.

She comes from a broken home

parents druggies and on crack.

Young brother drug dealer making dosh.

She sees no way out of the dead-end situation

called her life.

So she does tricks. To ease the pain

and make money. For her own drug habit.

And the existence of her life.

so sad just recently I watched a few dr phil shows about the cycle of drugs how the druggies kids end up doing it too eventually. so sad. I like your poem dawn hope all things ok over in your end of the world with all your worries, I see writing is a great release for you as it is to many others on this site, thankyou for your poems dawn.
