Deceit,

She has 3 children under 6 years of age.

All by the same father.

Who walked out the families front door with his new mistress

in tow.

No inclination or awareness he was cheating. Until today.

When he suddenly told her. And walked out. With no regret

or upset. Just happy he was going. By his remarks and behaviour that stab her like a

knife in the heart.

Turned out she was a temp. Brought in to cover some job. Left vacant

due to a maternity leave, someone had to take.

And "Rose" she managed to find out took that temporary post.

Being the office wage clerk /accountant.

Turns out they hit it of becoming an item quickly.

Secret visits to the stationary store-room.

Then meets in hotels at weekends and even the odd times during

the week over the last few months for a few hours

at a time.

where it turned out. He tricks me with some story. Saying he

was going to go to the gym and then something to eat

with his mates afterwards. See you in a few hours he would say

to her. Or going to visit my mothers or sister. Whichever

reason he used. He did.

She beleived him as they had been married for years. And

had the children. He adored and loved. It never entered

her head he was cheating on her. Until then.

The story/poem is not in itself an element but then there is that moment when you write that He tricks "me" not "she", from that point on there is a riddle as to whether the "she" might actually be a "me" as more and more of it is let out. Nothing unusual to tempt the reader beyond the facts in the rest of it ..but once that " Me" shows up, well now we start searching and rereading and turning over the carpets to see if you are, possibly, that "she"...A story that happens again and again and if in fact it does than everything changes..so don't tell me. A wonderful mystery at first light. Thank you Dawn~ Well done and wonderful to read you poetry once again. I must do this more often~ if in fact it is you..I'm so sorry to hear.

Sad, but I would say very common. Shows that some blokes are immature and let their dicks rule their heads. Not clever waltzing off with a mistress and deserting your children as well as your wife. The betrayal will remain a stain. The deceit, the lies. It stinks don'tcha think?

I think they guys are the lowest of the low. To be honest. Why marry someone have kids. Then cheat and then bugger off with the new woman. What is not to say he would do it again. Even works the other way. Some women
marry have kids. leave guy and then do it all over again with the new guy.

Some people aren't prepared to put the effort in Dawn and clear off as soon as the going gets tough. Anyone who does this once is more than capable of repeating the performance. The worse type of betrayal.
