Ironically True..

Families we all hopefully have one

and some might not anymore

due to whatever circumstances have

arisen and happened in life.

But if you have a family

your luck if you come from a good lot

the kind that sticks by you in both

good and bad times.

And always got your back

no matter the occasion.

And other families all they do is

give you grieve and upset

and constant disharmony

when things don't go their way.

Blood might be thick than water

but it certainly does not mean

things in life will always

run smoothly for you.

As families can be a curse

and also a blessing depending

on what is going

on with them all.

And sometimes they can also

be the ones that have caused

you the most pain and upset

in your life.

And made you o fucked up

as well.

So families are not always the

be all and end of a happy life.

Sadly we don't choose our family. We get what we get. Sometimes it can be good, at other times it can cause pain. We have to deal with it as best as we can.

how true Dawn ... sadly so .. I have been fortunate to have grown up in a solid family ... my parents both passed now and I miss them terribly at times ... as the son of the family I carry some guilt for missed opportunities to have deepened my relationship with Ma and Da ... but there are far more good memories ..the breakdown of family is a curse ..its the building block of societies .. but as in your closing ... "it" as well as anything else in the world ... is not the be all :) each of us carries the responsibility for our own lives ..no matter how good or how bad we grew up .. every single choice, after one's "age of reason" ... is a choice we make alone ;) you've given me much to think about this morning Dawn ... thanks for sharing your thoughts

yes, a curse and a blessing...making us feel good but also f*****g us up...it happens.
I have little family left...and though blood is thicker than water...the one who should be closest is farthest.
and one who is less immediate is the life line.
in some ways distance can be a blessing, and we lose family to create other family that stays.
