Maureen

Maureen is an 80 year old

short and dumpy, healthy

for her age pensioner.

With the most amazing

infectious, cheeky smile

And emerald eyes

that have not

lost their sparkle

for this life.

That can still light up a room

with the wisdom and spirit of her

soul shining through.

She has seen many upsets and triumphs

in her long life.

As well as seeing friends come and go.

She has outlived family members as

well as see new Born's.

Fashion styles have change over the years.

As well as new mod cons

That didn't exist when she was younger

are now the must have gadgets.

She looks at them with curiosity in her eyes.

But fear in her soul. As she is old school.

Her love for music is country

up loud and proud

in her living room.

And don't get her started

as she can talk the

hind legs of a donkey.

And a naughty joke has

escaped from her lips

the odd time in the past.

But she is the salt of the earth

loyal, kind and decent.
