Centrepiece

Centrepiece

A Poem by Ray

My intuitions led me beyond

barren gardens of more opinions,

where truth lay out of reach,

out of imagination.

This demanding scarlet centrepiece,

varnished and brilliant would nominate

just one flower every meal,

the rest writhing charcoal

became imperfect shatters.

There once was one manmade too

the very glossy crease.

Could've stood my test of time but

failed my inner peace.
