Leap of Torment

Leap of Torment

A Poem by Jonny Otter
"

Slightly morbid poem (not that I am a morbid person) about one individuals suicide attempt. I recently found it in my old literacy book from several years ago.

"
The torment of my life has lead to this,
Stood at the edge, At the precipice,
All of those who mocked and hurt me,
I now my soul waits to be set free

So, I peer over the side,
As rodents my emotions run to hide,
The cold, cracked crevice torn in my heart,
A blank book of my life that failed to start

Wind batters my face, whilst I gather my thoughts,
Those who care, just a series of noughts,
Hear the gentle pitter patter of rain,
No long loved memories to flood my brain

Run my fingers through pale, dry hair,
Take paces back, breath in the air,
The torment of my life has lead to this,
As I leap off the edge, off the precipice

Ooo its great :) It's got a very definite rhythm and is really poignant. By the way, on the second to last line, I think you missed a word out?
