Swollen Livers and Holey Lungs

Swollen Livers and Holey Lungs

A Poem by Rachel Myers
"

I went a little astray in my life at some point and that's when I wrote this.

"
Unnecessary exaggerations
Unforgivable explanations
And the absence of
your fingertips
the worst toxin of them all

Utterly vile
I take shot after shot
don't stop
I haven't forgotten yet

Bittersweet smoke
I take hit after hit
don't quit
I haven't reached the clouds yet

Jilted lovers
I take touch after touch
don't leave
I haven't learned my lesson yet
