Watching her

A heartfelt thank you goes to Richard who found the perfect artwork for my poem and helped me so much with oh so many things..

     Watching Her....

       Watching ...

       as she styled 

       long auburn hair

       in front of the mirror. 

       

       Naked waist-up,

       legs a'splay on a stool,

       watching her loveliness …

       nothing else mattered to me.

       

       She hummed a sweet tune, 

       I still love to hum.

              

       Loving,

       laughing in bed

       for hours …

       sun peeking 'round 

       velvet curtains,

       leaving a rainbow on our wall.

       

       Wanting never to leave … 

       yet, knowing we must.

       

       Remembering moments

       like those ~ when our

       bodies 'n hearts entwined.

       

       I knew then …

       I'd be watching her

       ....forever.

Oh my goodness Bhuyanshi, I am honoured by you very kind words. The fact that you went into such an amazing thoughtful review makes my heart sing.
I am quite sure that you realise that my poem is written from a mans perspective.I have written a few poems in the past year thinking of a mans perspective.
I am so sorry to be late in responding but I have been volunteering with an immersion program here in Spain helping the Spanish learn English and have not had a minute to myself until now.

Morning Lisa. Have read this a few times and struggle to comment as this style is the least favourite of mine. I see your acknowledgement to Richard and can see his fingerprints all over this. Personally I prefer the poems that you posted from your long ago past, the ones that reflect you and your life.
All that said this, as always, is extremely well written.

Actually, Gordon the funny thing is that I actually wrote the entire poem myself.. Richard helped me with where the lines should go..punctuation and changed a few of my words...but not much...I was struggling with trying to find the perfect artwork and Richard did find that..
When you say style do you mean the sensual category or the type of poetry.. Free Verse, etc.
Glad you still say it was extremely well written..
and I so appreciate you taking the time to read my poem.
