The Rooster

The Rooster

A Poem by Flora

He thinks he's so clever,

waking us up everyday.

Boy what wouldn't I give,

if that rooster would go away.

Maybe farmer could have rooster,

instead of chicken stew.

What if he fell off of that rooftop,

that's an easy thing to do.

Maybe we can throw him,

under farmer's big red plow.

Man you'd see those feathers flying.

I can almost see it now.

What if a fox sort of came in.

And he was right there for him to see.

I think there is some rope back in the barnyard.

Do you think that's to cruel of me?

Maybe we can mail him off.

To a place in tenbucktoo.

I wonder if they take roosters

at the local zoo.

Well, I guess I'll have to suffer.

It's a dream that won't come true.

After all I'm just a chicken.

What can a chicken do??

O' dear that poor chicken and indeed, a rooster is often overzealous when it comes to 'making friends'!

A humorous poem with a feel-good flow and rhyme!

ps I think you would appreciate my poem a a rooster, it's called Rooster Cogburn !
