Super Mario Bros. could be the most successful videogame adaptation, but it must take cues from Sonic the Hedgehog. Nintendo has teamed up with Illumination animation to create a 3D animated film about the plumber. This is more than 30 years after the tragic but memorable live-action Super Mario Bros. movie. Super Mario Bros is already well-known for its surprising voice cast that includes Chris Pratt playing Mario, Anya TaylorJoy portraying Princess Peach, Charlie Day portraying Luigi and Jack Black as Bowser. However, many details remain unknown.

Sonic, the long-time Mario opponent and blue blur, was a big box-office hit in Sonic the Hedgehog 2020, which starred James Marsden and Jim Carrey. Sonic's voice was provided by Ben Schwartz. The film tells the story of the title character, who hides in a Montana hamlet until Dr. Robotnik finds him.
