Before us we were just two strangers
Before our connection there was misplacement
Before love there was sorrow and emptiness

Before long you healed all my scars
With your lips and soft touch
Erased memories of my dreadful journey
With the touch of your heart
You put your arms out when everyone else closed them
You opened your ears when everyone else blocked them
You held onto me tight when everyone else pushed me away
You showed your heart when everyone else hid it away

Before us we were just two strangers
Before our connection there was misplacement

As without you there wouldn't be me
When I'm with you no one else matters
You turn my nightmare into a beautiful dream
You are my fire in the darkness -
Who sparked hope in my battered soul
As all I want to do is put a smile on your face
And show gratitude
As you found my soul
When I though I'd lost it for good

Our connection sparked setting fire
To our hearts as our love exploded
I live in constant fear as one day
Maybe our hearts will run out of fuel
I remind myself
That won't happen as our souls give fuel
To allow our hearts to burn forever
