The Other Side Of The Canyon

The Other Side Of The Canyon

A Poem by Patrick Davies
"

Careful not to fall in. The rivers are strong and the current is fast.

"

Iron gates, with rusting rocks

Positioned at the base

Open in the desert breeze -

Giving birth to stony depths,

Deathly howls and crooked trees.

Carved into the canyon side,

A guarding evil face.

Children play, but wash away,

In rivers in the void.

Dark green at first, then turn to red -

They float into oblivion,

Swirling streams around my head.

The garnet, orange tumble,

A dive I can't avoid.

About
Tell you? About me? But what of the consequences? Oh God, the things they could do to my life if I handed it over... A background from which they could merge into the foreground - a window, an opening.. more..
