The Leaf

The Leaf

A Poem by Patrick
"

If you read it through entirely its one poem, than if u read only the bold lines its another poem, and than if you read only the italics its another poem. Just something i am experimenting with.

"

It sprouts from the shoot

Small and green

Growing bigger each day

Crisscrossing veins

Its absorbs the sunlight

Stem leading back to the branch

Providing nutrients for the tree

Branch leading back to the tree

Receiving life from the tree

Roots spreading from the tree

Its begins to get cold

Throughout the ground

It starts to change

Until it touches another

The green changing to red

Up the trunk

Its begins to wither

Out through the branch

Tethered by only a small stem

To the leaf

The wind begins to blow

And the leaf falls
