Don't Follow Me

Don't Follow Me

A Poem by Moebia

I can't let you in,
because you'd want to get out.
If I told you the truth,
you'd say it was a lie.

If I spilled my guts,
it would stain your hands with my blood.

If you follow my path,
you would only get lost.
If you try to move closer,
we'd only be farther apart.

And you already know so much,
so keep your mouth closed and shut.

Gracious. This is perfect. I don't know what to say other than I am deeply touched by this, and I feel like I can relate. The first two lines, "I can't let you in,
because you'd want to get out" are my favorite. Excellent.
