Silencing the turbulence

Silencing the turbulence

A Poem by Payel
"

The turbulence of emotions,

That went on in my heart

All these years,

Washing away the happiness,

And erasing the memories

Of long-lived, childhood past,

That made me who I am today,

Walking on the thorns of life,

Bleeding drop by drop

Till there was no blood left,

To survive

In this good-bad world,

And I just waited for

The final call

To the abode,

Where peace reigned.

All was sucked away

From within,

The soul was empty

And hollow

It made the sound of an empty vessel,

Amalgamating helplessness with sorrow

And the melancholic tune played on,

Slowly and slowly,

Through the darkest of nights,

Without the moon to smile upon

And the stars to brighten your life,

It was so dull all this way,

So monotonous and colourless,

Till the storm that ruined it all,

Brought back the Pearl,

In that beautiful shell,

Unnoticed till date,

Making its presence felt,

It glowed there on the sparkling sand

Bright and shining,

Where was it all these years?

Of course, the question did not matter

Not when I have already found it,

Lying beside me,

Waiting to be carried on,

In the necklace I wore,

I knew it would be there,

Forever now

For it was a God’s gift,

To bring me back to life

And make me smile again.

The turbulence of emotions

That went on in my heart

All these years

Gave me the pearl

In the form of you.
