For My Children, With Love

For My Children, With Love

A Poem by pd
"

It's almost impossible to express everything my children mean to me, "I love you" just doesn't say enough. If you're a parent, you probably agree.

"

For my children, with love

From your first breath taken

To my last breath alive

You’ve filled my life with love

And my heart with pride

You both are my world

I want you to know

Even if I cut the apron strings

I can never fully let go

Perfect in my eyes

It will always be true

For perfect to me

Is you just being you

First tooth, first step

First laugh, first smile

Those memories so precious

Each moment worth while

 My goal was always

To do what it takes

To dispel your worries

And attend your aches

Each tear that you cry

My heart breaks anew

I pray for your happiness

And your dreams to come true

Each milestone you’ve had

Has filled me with joy

I love you darling daughter

And my precious boy

I know I’m not perfect

But know I did my best

And prayed that my love

Would take care of the rest

Time goes so fast

Now you’re both grown

Living your lives

With love for your own

Far in the future

When I am gone

Remember I love you

As you carry on
