Pumpkins in Autumn

Pumpkins in Autumn

A Poem by Jasmine

My heart was a pumpkin
Your name was carved on it
Everything was cool like an Autumn breeze
Yet you left
Tears fell from my eyes like leaves
In the wind you went
Like a whisper left unheard
Like every pumpkin
I decayed
I would've stayed
Seasons come and go
Just like Autumn and Spring
Next time I'll bring what's left from my pumpkin
And give it all to you
So maybe this time you won't leave
And I won't decay
Like the pumpkins that won't make it to next Spring.
