A Story by Melissa
"

Written January 2009 for R

"

Saturday Night

you took me by the hand
and suddenly
there was singing.

the voices said, I’m yours.

Sunday Dusk

a quiet goodbye
turned, hesitantly, into
a lovely hello.

please stay, it said.

Monday Dawn

the sunlight through the blinds
made striped patterns
across your face.

your smile said good morning.

Tuesday Evening

it was foggy
and you sighed
when I said good night.

Wednesday Morning

a casual turn of the head,
suddenly.

your eyes said I’m unsure.

Thursday Afternoon

three short words
hang in the air between us
with the stillness of three gentle feathers.

your silence is enough.

Friday Sunrise

the last tear
I ever cried for you
came unexpectedly.

goodbye,

it said with a smile.

I’m healing.

thank you for this mel, it really cleared something up for me in my life. i'm glad you were able to have such a clear maturity about this whole situation. this is beautiful, mysterious and heartfelt. there is not one word that could be changed.
