PermanenceA Story by Lexi
I think that one of the hardest things in a person’s life is realizing that you’ve lost someone. It’s excruciating, whether it be before the falling out or during the actual blow out. A day or a month after your last conversation. They’re gone. We often find ourselves chasing that person, trying to get a hold of what was once magnificent. The concept of them choosing abandonment is hard to grasp for every single one of us, but what is even more difficult is realizing that we can’t force someone to stay in our lives. What they have chosen to do is in their best interest; no matter how much they cared for you, or how many promises they may have made, they made the decision to leave you. Maybe they put your feelings into consideration, maybe they didn’t. The most painful part of it all is coming to terms with the fact that although we are aware that permanence does not exist, we long for it just the same.
