god damn heart

god damn heart

A Poem by Periac

she finally spoke words of melted wax

it hardened over my heart and I returned smiling

"I surrender who I've been for who you are"

I see how I appear to those treasured eyes

and maybe

there is a view of how I see you painted within words reach

able to be read finally

gates swung open and we started again

brilliantly clothed

the gifts you have given me solidify that being alone was never in my cards

your sweet soft lips

your feathered fingers

that god damn heart

warm and of apple cinnamon

how I love the life I live now that is you
