i was lost once

i was lost once

A Poem by Periac

I remember when I was lost

I'd shuffle around with false smiles and constructed bliss

only to reach the sanctuary of home

it was here I would remove all armor and welcome loneliness

I'd awake to find myself reaching for nothing but air

those terrible nights cold and depressed

I'd adapt though

perhaps I even can lie well

for when I showed my face it was always dressed proper and brilliant with sunshine

inside though was Armageddon

I guess I never really understood true comfort until my gaze fell upon you

in watched words I began pecking around your shell

it was now I realize that all I ever truly wanted was the smile you gave to me

I soon became everything i never was

truth

happy

the man you made me came easy

for I dressed each day to hold your eyes a little longer

now each day brings meaning

and I'll do whatever you ask

all I want is that heart forever

.....and now am found"

I love this piece. "the man you made me came easy", what a poignant and humble truth coming from your sex. It isn't often I have heard such significant emotion from the realm of a man. It's complete exposure and it is beautiful.
