Redemption's Visage

Redemption's Visage

A Poem by My Phoenix Project
"

A phrase I have been playing with for some time....

"
Redemption's Visage as seen alight in a dim room reflecting off a mirror.
Not sure why this thought sticks to me, but it does.
A confusing jumble of words, a phrase that turns and shifts in my mind.
Redemption's Visage reflected and cast upon me via a dimly lit mirror.
Is that any better. Any clearer?
Is there something the light wishes to show me, something I am missing?
Or is it the darkness that is the message.
The darkness is constant. All around, in the room.
The Visage of Redemption...as seen in the dimly lit mirror.
Reflecting....what?
What is the face of Redemption?
What is the Face of Redemption?  Perhaps that is what I seek, the face, the meaning.
What does it mean to be redeemed? Are we all worthy of such a gift?
But I do not believe it is a gift at all. Redemption is work.
It is sweat
Tears
Blood.
It is the drive that forces us to be better than we were, to grow from the darkness
to become more.
That is the visage. That is the message, that is the reflection.
So
Redemption's Visage in the dim mirror...gets brighter. The face clearer, the message
more sound.
And that face
is Mine.
