Brothers

Once there were three men,
Brothers by blood.
Separated at birth,
They longed to find their parents,
Over the expanse of the earth.

Each man had a different idea,
And none could convince the other.
So they embarked on their separate journeys,
Each step taking them further away from each other.

On this tedious and a never ending path,
They found many people, willing to help them.
And so they joined the brothers,
In the quest to find their creators.

Over the time, these helpers,
Turned into followers,
They spread the progress of their preferred brother,
Turning the brothers into leaders.

Jealousy crept in the brothers minds,
For they had become delusional,
Bigger the pack, better the chances,
Thus they became rivals.

Each started influencing the other's followers,
To join their group..
They started with explanations,
Proceeding to bribes..
One promised fame and glory,
While the others painted images gory.

Somewhere in between greed and jealousy,
Their original purpose was lost.
They still strived to find their parents,
But there was insincerity in their cause.

Life passed them by,
The brothers were on their deathbed.
Ashamed of their failure,
But not repentant of the abominations they committed.

And just as they were about to die,
They found themselves in a strange place.
The three brothers, face to face, after years,
Found an old and tired woman, in tears.

Mother! They exclaimed together.
Their joy knew no bounds.
They noticed her tears,
"Where is father?", one of the brothers frowned.

"You killed him!", their mother spat.
You all killed him with your greed and power.
For though I am the one who created your bodies,
He was the one who molded your souls.

You destroyed your father, Humanity
And you are on the verge of destroying me, Mother Earth..


Shocked by the enormity of what they had done,
The brothers realized their error..
For though they had chosen different religions,
Their final goal was similar..
