Utopia

Utopia

A Poem by Brindley Peiris

Smitten eyes dove deep inside

As silken hands entwined

Along with lips and heart and soul

Caressed their kindred minds

While loins romanced to a whispered

song

Beneath the stellar sheets

Heartbeats resounded like warning knells

'Midst breasts of tempestuous seas

Chansons arose each to its crescendo

Time and all else stood still

He broke with her and she with him

Proud bells and whistles shrill
