SOME NIGHTSA Poem by Peter RogersonSome nights we dream, don't we?In the twilight Of this wasteland Where my pastel fancies roam, In the darkness Of the journey I’ll return to this, my home.
There the Satan Of my nightmares And the bringer of my dread, He the monster Crushed by hoping Let the hero rise instead…
And I’m sleeping Peaceful, breathing, Empty dreams and loving heart, She’s beside me Smiling night-time, Hold my hands, we’ll never part.
Stars are shining, Glistening, twinkling, On the creatures of my day, Evil nonsense Dark and shady Slinks like shadows far away.
