Broken Heart

Broken Heart

A Poem by Tim Piotrowicz
"

The way I feel sometimes about being a Christian.

"
Fighting my broken heart makes the world seem so horrible
when I try to grasp the light each day I only catch the rubble
of the lives crashing down around me as His masterpiece seems to fade
I want so much to be free, but my own self has forbade
it and I yearn to follow rightly what I know is true and good,
but the attractions of this world only pull me farther from where I should
be as I grief and cry and sorrow in my lonely prayers each day
all I can set my hope on is the sacrifice that my Lord God gave away.

Author's Note

Tim Piotrowicz
Although the worst rhythm I have ever written for a poem, it expresses how I feel about life as a young Christian man.

Yes, the rhythm seems a little jilty. But the message/emotions (pull of the world) is something many people can relate to. It's like from Romans where Paul says "that which I should do I don't and what I shouldn't do I do" and the hymn "prone to wander, Lord I feel it." The message is timeless, spanning the generations.

Beautifully written. That's the word that came to my mind after I read this. "Beautiful." The Lord is the remedy, He is the cure!

Wow, I am truly impressed. Poetry is my weakest point, and I only wish I could write like this. Great job!

true that even we forbade ourselve the seduction of all that attract us is too much ending up into something we regret... but that's normal right... we seek everything pleasurable it's either good or bad... the things is how we find our balance in all things that are just too much or just right... god gives us free will to choose what's is just right for us to get and give... great work!
