Myka

Myka

A Poem by phi 🎀
"

This is just something I wrote in my notes app, it's about a boy in love with a girl named Myka who he knows he can't be with. Was originally meant to be a song.

"
I see the way he look sat her
He knows that things are ending
Her expressions grown worn and tired
She's tired of pretending

He sees the way I look at her
Knowing what my heart desires
I see that when she looks at me
Her face softens in the slightest

I notice things he never noticed
The long sleeves that she wears
We took swimming lessons as kids
So why does she hate the lake so much

I see the pain hidden in her eyes
After she closes the shutters
So she puts on a cold hearted disguise
And cries under the covers

He'll never know her the way I know her
"He's a childhood friend" she'll explain
Surely she didn't forget the day
When I took on a half of her pain

Myka I know what you're been through
Your tears stain my favorite hoodie
Covering me in dried blood and vanilla perfume
Myka thank you for not leaving me

The night you made that choice
With shaking hands you held that knife
He was out clubbing with his friends
I was saving your life
