Transcendence

Transcendence

A Poem by Pheonix Dawn

Under the blanket of stars
I lay my secrets bare
of a man I once knew
with eyes the color of the sea
and a heart full of love
protective to a fault
giving into a sense of safety and love

As darkness takes hold
Let the truths be seen
of a man i now know
with eyes the color of the sea
now a turbulent storm of evil and lies
A touch that burns my skin
as he took what he desired
molding my mind, body, soul
into a creation of his design
turning a beating heart
that once beat for him
to ash

Under the glow of the moon
witness the avowal be made
of a girl I once knew
with the fragile heart
turned to ash
as she gathers the remains
of her calcined crux
forging them with her luminescence
bringing forth the strength and beauty
unexampled that of the rarest diamond

Under the incandescence of her luminosity
I let the transformation set apart
of the woman i was born to be
as i transcend into an ardor
unparalleled to steel
a new perspective on what beauty truly is
a creation of my resilience
no longer his
