When you look at that girl

with the smile on her face

would you even know

that she smiles to hide the pain

scars left behind

by a man who knew better

When you look at that girl

laughing along with all of the jokes

would you even know

that she laughs to hide the tears

she cries at night

because of a love that wasn't right

when you see that girl

standing in the crowd

would you even know 

that she is uncomfortable

unsure of how to act

due to years of isolation
