This is what equality looks like

This is what equality looks like

A Poem by N.Sevilla
"

My experience at Orange County Pride was really something.

"
Under the rainbow of lights,
We danced in the night,
Our skins painted by the sound of music.
We sat on the stairs
Without worry or care,
Just bobbing our heads along.
I pointed to the crowd,
So joyous and loud,
And said, "Look at the rainbow we've made.
There are whites and blacks.
There's no race we lack.
Yet they all dance together as one.
Those on wheelchairs, they dance!
The poor folks prance
Right beside the bodies of the rich.
The hatred we carry
That we endlessly bury
Is forgotten on a night like this.
The young and the old,
Without being told,
Know that this is what equality looks like."

I really did have a conversation like this with a stranger at OC pride, except, of course, it didn't rhyme.

That's really inspiring and if only we could all embrace equality in all things, then we could all be happy!

How i wish I could have been there to celebrate with them! Maybe another time.
