Black Heart

Black Heart

A Poem by Picture of Poetry
"

My dark adn black heart...

"

For in a world of light,

you face hides beneath,

the depths of the cold earth.

You havent' got a soul, for as

the wind sweeps across the land,

you are sheilded from it.

Though you are a heart,

you feel no love.

You have no purpose.

You do not live in a body,

helping to pump blood.

You don't even thrive on anything.

Nor do you spread your darkness,

awakening the dead from their sleepless,

and shameful slimbers.

You do nothing but sit,

and stair into the earth wondering

if anyone will ever find you;

redeem you;

save you;

claim you as their own.

But I will.

I will wear you around my neck,

to show the world that,

I am the keeper of all

things dark and evil in this screwed up world.

Someday, just keep waiting.

Good lord this was beautiful. o= You write so intensely, and I feel as though I travel to a different world everytime I read your work! The description in this piece was flawless & I really enjoyed the lines "Nor do you spread your darkness, / awakening the dead from their sleepless, / and shameful slimbers." So dark & beautiful!! (Although is that supposed to be "slumbers"?) Great job with this, I really enjoyed reading!!!

I liked this. I myself often say I have a black heart. But perhaps it is the part of Me that holds all things dark and evil as you say. Nicely written.
