Christmas through my family's eyes

Christmas through my family's eyes

A Poem by Picture of Poetry
"

What does your family's Christmas look like to you and your family...?

"

The wind outside is blowing,

and the snow has yet to fall,

while the fire inside is snapping,

giving warmth to us all.

We are all thankful to be here,

all together as one,

from mothers and fathers

to sisters and sons.

Children, outside running

in the bitter cold,

with candycanes in their mouth

looking so bold.

The smell of a turkey with dressing,

pervades slowly through the house,

making everyones nose twitch,

even the mouse (under the floorboard)

The table is cluttered by many foods,

from bread rolls and pies,

to homemadae cider

brought in by  Uncle Tye.

Everywhere you look,

you see glowing smiling faces,

and pictures all around,

of different times and places.

A bright green Christmas tree,

strung with colourful lights,

brightens any and every room,

every Christmas night.

All sized presents,

sitting under the big tree,

some with tags atached the read,

"TO: SUE  FROM: ME (Picture of Poetry)"

The night is getting darker,

while the time fr Santa gets nearer,

so the children get to bed,

lisening for tiny reindeer.

Before the children dose off,

they hear and ee a few things,

the snow fall outside their window,

and sleigh bells ringing.

As the Christmas eve ends,

more carols will be sung,

more food will be eaten,

and more holly will be hung.
