I, Bird

I, Bird

A Poem by Picture of Poetry

I see,

far away,

an open window,

showing day…

My heart,

fair light,

spread wings,

prepare flight…

Dancing,

toes,

shaking,

nose…

Loosing,

time, ALAS!

Window shuts slow,

to pass…

FLY!

FAST!

LEAVE,

MY PAST!

Beating,

heart,

the seeking,

starts…

Freedom,

claims low,

dim light,

clouds show…

Slowing,

time…

Fading! Falling!…

no climb…

BUT!

Wind blows,

boost wings,

can show!

Bitter,

hate behind!

Loving fate,

I FIND!

HERE!

There me!

Free.

Free!

Out window!

In sun,

rays,

hung…

Finally!

Ah ha! ME!

I…am…

…free…

Eyebird does have images popping up in my head . I agree this would make a wonderful recited soliloquy. I love the expressiveness.

Hey really interesting poem done in a different way. When you read it it sounds quite fractured, and I'm not sure if it works completely but it does give it an air of frantic excitement which goes along with your content. Don't really get the title, but it's probably something i'm just not seeing :)
good stuff!

This was a really unique poem - the short, sometimes one-word lines you don't really see often.... I think it worked in this case, especially with the punctuation. This would definitely be a fun poem to read outloud, or act out. :)
