Telephone Call

Telephone Call

A Poem by Piro

-Who is it on the phone?
-It's your wife, what shall I tell her?
-Tell her I know she's falling out of love with me. Tell her I know she's been sleeping with my best friend and my boss and my cousin. Tell her I f*cking hate her for hurting me. Tell her I said forever and meant it. Tell her I hate her lies and pathetic apologies. Tell her I can't stand to live like this. Ask her what is so wrong with me, that she keeps running to the people closest to me. Tell her I can't do this anymore. Tell her I'm planning on killing myself. Tell her she can join me if she so desires. Tell her I can't stop crying. Tell her I know I'm a failure. Tell her....tell her I can't live without her so I am not going to make myself. Tell her I slept with her sister that one time, so I guess we're even.
-Ahem, please hold.
