Worn From Living

Worn From Living

A Poem by pinkasylum
"

One's body giving way to the forces of chronic despair

"

           A slow moving silhouette

                                a withering empty vessel

     of refrained beauty

                 wasting in the hours floor

darkest deepset eyes of fallen grace

of winding twines and catacombed hearts

                        overwrought tired wailing walls

   of dripping moist etched sadness

              starkness ended soul

                            between earth's plateau

                      and heavens door

A nice exercise in imagery, but the poem never really goes anywhere. Essentially, it's the same image repeated over the course of a few lines. However, the imagery is quite good. I particularly like the last three lines.
