A Children's Morn

A Children's Morn

A Poem by pinkasylum
"

Morning life with my 2 baby nieces

"

The sounds of morning awake through squeals
fleeting away quickly from my sweet dreams
bounding down the winding white staircase
I think, can it be what I usually see
little peanut butter faces
diapered bottoms buckled down
cold spilt milk all around
Cinderella off to dance in her blue gown
While the dashing Prince rides through town
Fairy Godmother's frantic spells float all around
the girls utter more more more giggling
mommy swirls to their beck and call
applesauce n oatmeal in one's OWN bowl
all finished now with dripping sweet glares
the leftover's all tipped to the floor
sticky fingers desperate for wet towels
they spring from their smeared "kiki" seats
to see what toys they will gracefully unveil
Woody, Elmo, Mermaid, Snow White
all huddled together with tiny bead eyes
they swipe them up in their little girl way
off they go to seek the entourage that await
