Ancient Drifts

Ancient Drifts

A Poem by pinkasylum
"

The Sahara, largest, hottest, most mysterious desert in the world.

"

Invisible passages to an ancient world

melodious prancing camels hailed, bejeweled

moroccan flutes wailing from the distant forbidden city

cloaked sand dwellers mysterious in hidden adobes

alluring women standing sultry in the shadows of the moon

like dancing snakes in the blistering Sahara tombs

swords and secrets long buried beneath the soft white arabian dunes
